Porsche iPod iPhone Car Stereo Adapter by DICE

I would like to help Porsche owners know what their missing. Chances are that if you own a Porsche that you probably own an iPod. This means you have wondered what is available (other than FM modulators) to connect your iPod to your Porsche's factory car stereo. Fiber-optics prove to be the biggest hurdle since the Porsche is using them throughout the car for its electrical/communication/stereo system. The solution is the Porsche iPod iPhone Car Stereo Adapter by DICE Electronics. DICE makes the best kits around.

For Porsche there are two kits, the mo-Porsche-40 fiber-optic kit which is for newer Porsche vehicles with navigation and the mo-Porsche-41 fiber-optic kit which is for newer Porsche vehicles without navigation.

All Porsche's from 2003 to present are supported. The kit comes with fiber-optic cables that connect directly to the factory stereo, a hideaway module and an iPod dock cable. The module you hide discreetly under the dash and have the iPod docking cable come out in the glove box or to a cradle if you like to keep your iPod within view. Add Bluetooth and you can enjoy hands-free calling with your iPhone or other smartphone.

Because of the nature of fiber-optics and the tight fit and finish of the Porsche's interior it is highly recommended to have these kits installed professionally. Installation can take from 3 to 6 hours depending on your model and year. It's worth it because the result will be a hard-wired connection which means CD quality sound, album/artist text display on the factory stereo, stereo control of the iPod and constant charging so your iPod or iPhone is never running low.

Explaining iPod Car Adapters

I'm going to keep things real simple here. FM modulators are crap! Cassette adapters are crap! They are a bandaid patch on a problem that can only be solved by one thing, an iPod adapter module by DICE Electronics. These are hideaway boxes that connect between your factory car stereo and your iPod. Don't be fooled into buying a brand new stereo just to get your iPod hard-wired to the stereo system. DICE makes kits that allow you to connect your iPod directly to your factory car stereo.

These adapters, or modules as some may call them, are the communication junction between your factory stereo and your iPod. You can start enjoying crisp clean CD quality music with constant charging. Imagine having access to over 10,000 MP3s at the touch of a button! Their modules even feature an additional AUX input that also allows the connection of SAT radio integration or any other audio device.

FEATURES INCLUDE:
* iPod AUX interface
* Charges the iPod when ignition signal is detected
* Turns on iPod when igniton signal is detected and off when ignition is switched off
* Conditions the audio output level
* Additional 1/8" AUX input jack (active when iPod is disconnected) for secondary device such as DVD or satellite radio
* Adjustable inputgain on AUX input
* Comes standard with a docking cable
* Leaves the iPod user interface alive (Control through iPod Directly)
* Connect any external audio device including: aftermarket satellite radio, CD/DVD players, non-Apple MP3 players and more Bass, mid, treble and gain settings can be adjusted for the AUX input. These options allow for distortion-free audio input.
* Selecting between audio from your iPod or AUX input is done with the press of a button on your radio.

Universal iPod Car Kits start around $99. Get a Universal Kit capable of hard−wiring to ANY car stereo, and I mean ANY. You want 'Full Integration'? Vehicle Specific kits are for you then. They include vehicle−ignition−controlled playback, constant charging, stereo head unit control, album/artist stereo text display and steering wheel control (on most vehicles)? Your iPod Car Kit is available for Acura, Audi, Bentley, BMW (motorcycle too), Chevrolet (beta), GMC (beta), Honda, Hummer (beta), Infiniti (coming soon), Lexus, Lamborghini, Mazda, Mercedes−Benz, Mini Cooper, Nissan (coming soon), Porsche, Scion, Toyota and Volkswagen. Most kits install easily with only minor technical skills needed (vehicles like Mercedes, BMW or Porsche may require a professional install).

The bottom line is don't waste your money on FM modulators or cassette adapters. Do it right the first time and don't go backwards on sound quality. Hear the difference of CD quality music from you iPod on your factory car stereo.

The DICE iPod Car Kit Solution

DICE Electronics is a clear leader in iPod vehicle integration. Their staff is very competent and they have their own dedicated in-house engineering, designer, and marketing experts. After my thorough investigation of their company it is clear that they are at the forefront of integrating personal electronics devices into the automobile. Their iPod and iPhone Car Modules Play HIGH QUALITY music from your iPod and iPhone HARDWIRED through various available ports of your vehicles factory car stereo (ie: CD changer port) creating a truly integrated iPod Car Stereo. One of the most innovative and simple to install and use integration solutions is from DICE Electronics. "In today's digital world, consumers want a simple plug and play and cost effective integration solution for their cars. Everyone wants easy to understand value that will work in their cars. This "keep it simple" consumer behavior plays right into our strategy of promoting the complete solution integration including the connector to hook up their iPod/iPhone." - Stephen Witt EVP, Dice Electronics. Well said Steve.

Recently DICE has welcomed the arrival of Stephen Witt as their new VP of marketing. Steve is the former VP of marketing at Alpine Electronics and was there when the struggle of integrating the iPod with factory car stereo's began. He knows first-hand how underserved the integration market is and how important it is to make the interface simple. He says, "It's about how simple and easy to use." So far this approach has been successful, as DICE has the best user experience on the market. The stereo controls are well thought out, the modules don't lock out the iPod controls and installation is a breeze. My personal experience rates their modules as one of the top two.

DICE has a new flagship, the MediaBridge. The MediaBridge has two models, the MB-1000 & MB-1500. The MediaBridge is on the cutting edge of not just iPod integration but the integration of smartphones such as the Blackberry, Android, Palm, Windows Mobile, and many MP3 playing smartphones in addition to supporting USB flash drives. Additional features (for the MB-1500 only) include Bluetooth hands-free/Audio Streaming and Text-to-speech. The Bluetooth feature connects compatible wireless phones for hands-free operation. It provides music/audio streaming from A2DP enable devices. The Text-to-speech is the latest of innovative technologies that DICE is leading the industry in that allows you to listen to your phone, iPod or USB Flash drive, read your incoming phone number caller-ID, artist and song titles as well as menus to help you keep your hands on the wheel and eyes on the road. However, the connectivity doesn't stop there. The MediaBridge also sports an AUX input and SIRIUS Satellite Radio Connectivity. And I'm still not done, the MediaBridge sports a mini-B USB connection for firmware updates! This means when Apple has a major OS update you don't have to worry about compatibility with the MediaBridge. WOW! And the price point for the MediaBridge is only $250, a bargain considering it could be the last integration module you will buy for your vehicle.

iPod Car Accessories Not Satisfactory

  Bookmark & Share

Currently OEM vehicle integrations are not satisfactory to the consumer. "Sixty percent of iPod users use the units in their vehicles, but they are not currently satisfied with the integration solutions available." Aftermarket Business, Vol 116 Issue 10, p60-60. Car makers are not expected to offer suitable integration for at least another 5 to 10 years. Most of my competitors do not focus strictly on iPod integration and only offer the products as an aggregate to a large general array of mobile electronics. Many of these sites do not focus solely on iPod integration and lack clarity in descriptions.

At mypodcarkit.com I want you to rest at ease knowing that our specialty is strictly iPod Vehicle Integration. If you want FM modulation or cassette adapters you are barking up the wrong tree. Our iPod Car Kits offer full factory stereo integration with vehicle ignition controlled playback, constant charging, stereo head unit control, album/artist stereo text display and steering wheel control.

We offer protection and convenience for your precious investment as well. Rather than letting your iPod lay in the glove box or on the passenger seat waiting in peril of being jettisoned onto the floor from a hard brake, where rocks and dirt from your shoes embedded in the floor mats await to scratch your iPod and its glorious finish, we offer ProClip iPod cradles and vehicle mounting solutions that you can install yourself and do not require special tools, dismantling of the dash or damage the interior.

iPod Car Kits start around $99. Get a Universal Kit capable of hard wiring to ANY car stereo, and I mean ANY. You want 'Full Integration' including vehicle ignition controlled playback, constant charging, stereo head unit control, album/artist stereo text display and steering wheel control (on most vehicles)? Most kits install easily with only minor technical skills needed (vehicles like Mercedes, BMW or Porsche may require a professional install). I had my kit installed in my Toyota Land Cruiser for $50 at my local install shop. Now I can't imagine my life without it.

I want to take the guess work out of integrating your iPod or iPhone with your vehicles factory car stereo. I will show you the most current and innovative iPod or iPhone factory and universal car stereo integration kits. I want you to share the enjoyment of having your iPod or iPhone hard-wired in your car, the way it was intended to be. It's the gift that keeps on giving!
